Tras 39 años de una vida llena de mala suerte, Ryoma Takebayashi fallece mientras duerme. Apiadándose de él, tres seres divinos muestran compasión reencarnándole en un joven muchacho en un mundo nuevo y mágico. Ahora pasa su tiempo investigando y cuidando de los slimes del bosque.
